Looking great, Chris. I'm very happy to see how well your surgery has turned out for you. Seems like only yesterday you had it done.

It's traumatic and I really hope the situation improves soon, e.g. an equivalent treatment with no side effects comes out or better research into what causes side effects and how to resolve them.
Hey. I just wanted to put my two cents here. Mine went away after 1 1/2 years if I remember. I really thought they would never go. Then 5 months ago I decided to gave it another try and followed the Spex way of start slow and actually I guess that worked. I don't really know if it's something different with this pill because this time I bought them in Mexico, but are the same Merk's brand just a different name. I haven't feel the same great power that felt in my first try, but at the end no bad sides have risen in all this time.

Maybe you could do the same one day.

Thanks Aames. Yeah, it's flown. I really want to look into RU soon, you on it?

boricotico, I very much doubt I'll be touching finasteride again, but thanks for your suggestion. I'm going to start researching topical solutions, such as RU. I'm obviously sticking with minoxidil, as it's been good to me. I might consider saw palmetto, but I'm cautious with regard to any oral treatments now.

It's interesting how Minox has helped you, for me, it's been next to useless - different strokes i guess, wish it would help me, as i dont think i'll ever be able to willingly swallow a Fin tab myself.

Why don't you try topical RU? Or isn't there a topical finasteride? Kudos to you for appreciating the risks involved and deciding it's not for you. How many men wish they'd done the same and would happily be bald for normal sexual function?

I think of it many times per day, have even got some in the post, but will be returning it, have read too many warnings red flagging it.

Might look into RU next, or just buzz it and fade away, accept my destiny..

I'm so happy you feel that way! Exactly why I've been so open.

Thanks 25, I'm not considering any further work at this point. I'll assess my situation next February. I do have some grafts in my widows peak are yeah.

I have just posted an update and will follow this post with a photo from it

The redness from surgery gradually faded over the last 3 months. It does take awhile to completely fade, but eventually it's hard to notice.
Hi chrisis, so caps for nearly 3 months? That sounds a long time. Was that just because you felt more comfortable that way or could you have have got away without them? Or is it too noticeable?

In terms of the future, is this a case of that's it now re hair problems, should this hopefully see you through for a long time, 10yrs plus or are you still dependant of meds like the rogaine?

Totally agree with you re some drugs losing sexual function etc they are not worth it. So it's iether HT or nothing for me I think. Still haven't stared rogaine, hear too many incidents of it destroying people's hair lines and making it worse.

If you had kept your hair shaved for the 3 months would it have been less noticeable.

                  All the best

Actually closer to 4 months with a cap! it's a long time, and longer than I thought I would, but I've been told caps so I don't think many people have battered an eye.

I feel more comfortable with my cap, but it's probably been fine to remove it for quite awhile. The concern I had is people judging it on the basis of the hair looking thin, so I thought I'd give it a bit longer for the big "reveal". Remember the tabloids claimed Rooney's transplant had failed in the first few months after his first transplant.

I'm not sure how long my transplant will see me through until. I'm using minoxidil foam daily, so that will hopefully help. Some people in the industry say that no one ever has one hair transplant, but who is to say? Those with certainty on such topics usually end up being wrong.

I see you stated that Finesteride was a definite NO for you....

What was Feruduni's view of this?

Obviously he was fine with it?

I am just concerned that hair surgeons expect you to be on meds.

I am not keen on Fin either and have very little hair left to save so I don't see it as necessary.

Dr Feriduni knew how I felt and he was happy with where I was at given my age and use of minoxidil. He told me that if I advanced to Norwood 3 and 3a, he would only need about 600 grafts to "fill in" the gap, so that's pretty reassuring. The big worry is if my crown goes, but at the moment it's strong and I'm hoping it can hold out until some better, and safer options become available.

Hey chrisis, are you currently trying out any supplements for MPB such as saw palmetto, nettle, etc?

At this point I am considering trying some.

                            Chris

i am so floored by your photos. You have the same growth at 4 months as I do at 7months.

I could tell right away your head was healing far faster than I had seen others heal. May I ask how old you are?

                            Cheers

Not at the moment, I'm too worried about sides. Even if they're "natural".

Thanks drybone. My last photos were actually at 3 months. I'm at 4 months now and have had considerably more growth and thickening. I'll be updating with more photos in about 4 weeks.

                              I'm 29 and turn 30 next month

So I went for a haircut today, and at 4 months post surgery absolutely nothing was mentioned. I chose not to bring it up and it really seemed they didn't notice anything.

                                Success!
