    Today's topic is donor hair.

Before surgery, you can see my donor was bleeding and looked painful. Check out how it looks now!

Thanks, I intend to keep it going for at least a year to show the "full result" in a chronological time frame.

7 days in the life of my head:

          • Swelling has gone
          • Scabs have formed in recipient area
          • Native hair is growing back

One week and your scalp is looking great.

Not even gonna front, I'm a little jealous of your hairline. (Despite your facial expressions, I'll assume you're happy - ha ha).

            Best.

Chris, congrats homie. I know you said you were on track of getting a HT in 2013, and you took the plunge, that's awesome. Just curious, and I'm sorry if you answered it, but what made you go with FUE vs FUT?

Thanks, I am happy I am trying to keep a blank expression for the purpose of these photos.

Thanks dude. I chose FUE over FUT after lots of research! I recognised that clinics in Europe were producing good FUE results and the price was affordable. I feel I made the right decision

That's truly awesome. Yeah, getting FUE in the states, is crazy expensive. I couldn't imagine any physician offering at $4/follicle. It's almost double that here. I think I might have to weigh out the costs to see if it would be actually cheaper for me to go trans-Atlantic and get a FUE procedure instead of doing a strip.

I'm pretty happy with the results so far with fin, minox, niz, and biotin. If I can do whatever I can to minimize the cost of a HT, I'll do that. I wanted a HT around this same time, but I think I'm going to push it to the end of the year. Hopefully by that point, you'll have a full set of hair and be getting all the girls...

If I'm going to go for another hair transplant i think it would be with Dr Feriduni, I am literally going to wait and see how yours turns out by the end of the year.

I shall be watching with hope! goodluck mate.

I think going to Europe for an FUE is very feasible. There are guys going to America for FUT, so why not?

Thanks jimbob. This is exactly why I'm doing my blog and I promise to keep it updated.

                        Two Week Update

It’s now two weeks since I had surgery with Dr Feriduni in Belgium. I’ve taken some photos to show my progress. As you can see, the recipient area is healing nicely. Most of the scabs have fallen off during the last few days, and the skin has a healthy pink tone.

As anticipated some of the Follicular Units (FU’s) have fallen out, so the density of the recipient area does not quite match that of the native hair – and that will remain the case until new hairs begin to grow through. This is to be expected, as at this stage, hairs in the donor area begin to shed, paving the way for newer, stronger hairs to grow in their place.

The HT looks really good so far. Congrats.

Thanks Breaking Bald, rugger31 and PatientlyWaiting. I really can't wait for the summer!

I'll keep taking photos, but updates may be less frequent as I expect much less excitement in the weeks and months to come.
