The number of grafts you get transplanted is really dictated by 1) how aggressive your hair loss is and 2)how much donor supply you have. Each individual doctor will have their own interpretation as to how far down to place the hairline and how dense your resulting transplant will be based primarily on those two factors. From past experience, Finasteride also plays a role in deciding the overall game plan of your hair restoration. I recommend you get a few opinions from different doctors as to what they recommend and in general how much donor supply you are working with.
Hey Thinking, you must also consider that there WILL be some type of TREATMENT eventually available as well. Hypothetically, the mainstream way that we will recover our manes is to combine HT with a treatment from one of the companies working on them . What I mean is that you may not want to go overboard with a full scale HT
Hi Thinking,
Your hairloss pattern is similar to me. If you want like a NW 1.5-2 when you are done, I would say 2000-2500 grafts for a thick dense packed result. You can see my 6 months result in this link:
Hi All,
Been away for some time and just wanted to ensure that people saw the difference that a FUE 2400+ can do after 6 months to a NW3...
Please have a look at my before and after shots below... The before shot is of course without products and I was not wearing my hair like this - but wanted to show my hair loss. The

Can u clarify that a little bit. What kind of treatment? And especially - when. To be honest I am in my early 30s now and want to get this done asap. Don't want to get old and then have it, when it doesn't matter anymore

I think you woul dbe very happy with 2000 - 2500 in the frontal area.
It appears that you have some loss in the crown?
Yes, I do think so too. I am not to greedy, just want some decent hairline. It doesn't need to be like it was when I was 20.
As for the crown, there is almost no loss, nor would I care too much if there was some. I do care much more though about front, as it makes ur appearance.

Good luck.
Wow, excellent results man. Congrats. I am thinking about doing similar. Our hair loss looked similar, but u were baldier . I read all 5 pages, nice to have such a good feedback, and I am thinking about doing FUE.
Question: How short can u cut ur hair after FUE, how many millimeters that is?

FUE is the way to go if you are NW3 or less and not many NW6s in the family. I have shaved down to a clipper #2 so that 6mm with no evidence what so ever, but I think that after say 6-10 months you can go down to clipper #1 i.e. 3mm if you have a top result. But nothing is guaranteed, but I am pretty sure that I can shave down to that around now or in a couple of months. I will probably do it next time I have 2 weeks holiday.
Do your research before you go for FUE there are only about a hand full of top docs who can do 2000+ graft in 1-2 days with a top result.

It seems I have had very "interesting" hair loss. Start loosing it at 15 and in 20s some. Now I am in 30s and for the last couple of years (4-5) I have had almost no hair loss so that is encouraging for me to get ht, as I am pretty confident it wont be so aggressive in the future where I would be left with island infront Also, my relatives are pretty much full of hair. Father for example, way over 50s has almost no hair loss at all. DNK test comes to mind
2000 grafts sounds like a lot to me anyway, as from this photos it seems like I have half a head balding, whereas is only first 1/3.

Donor supply is pretty good. Wide, thick hair. In fact, what I hate about my hair is that from sides they get to thick and fast growing even after only a week after hair cut Will take some out, serves them right.
I have had no medication, nor do I ever want to be put on one, period. As for the density and hair line, I had an issue as my forehead is already high even if there would be no hair loss at all, so I have to lover it down.
Anywhere between 1500 - 2000 grafts would give you a decent result - and apparently Dr Gho can achieve 80% donor regeneration so a repeat procedure 12 months down the line could be feasible.
Oh how I'd leap in line for a hair transplant if they could conflate the original procedure with cell therapy injections to increase density. That's all we could ask for really, just to use the injections for density and continue having hair transplants as usual.

What do you mean by donor regeneration, you mean that 80% of transplanted hair will stick and 20% will be lost or what?

Dude, Realistically you will need a 2500-3000 session minimum.
I am posting new photos which gives better overall view. Could you make new estimation please.
I only now noticed that I am start receding in crown too, just what I need , but I am not panicking about it. As I am tall enough it would be hard to notice + you can cover it with a longer hair and decent hair cut, so please give an estimation for frontal area only.
Can somebody give an estimation about donor area, it looks good or?
