Have you seen any of his work to back up that claim? Even if he's the only FUE specialist in the world (which he's not obviously) doesn't mean he's actually any good.
I'd be extremely skeptical about going to someone if this question needs to be asked. -
Hi 8868alex, nah no decisions made yet. I'm researching it pretty much every day. Right now I have about 10 tabs open on my browser researching various doctors. It's become an obsession and is stressing me out a bit.
Doctor is undecided
FUE or FUT is undecided
Grafts and where I want my hairline to be is undecided
I think I'll go through with it, that much I know.
I have a consultation with Dr Feller on May 16th which I'm counting down to. I'd like to make a decision within a few weeks of that and get the surgery done in the summer so I can sorta hibernate over winter and by summer 2013 I can get on with my life again without any more hair worries.Comment

Chrisis - Yea, I hear that. I only ask as it's something I've thought about for myself. I'm in my 30's now and pretty stable but I won't say I'm not tempted to get a small frontal procedure done to fill in the temples slightly. For me it would be FUE or nothing. Dr Feller is quite a character, but as a surgeon I think he is generally considered in the elite so you'd be in good hands. Good luck with all your research, but make sure you enjoy the summer too!
Keep us posted on how you go!
(Sorry for hijacking this thread by the way guys lol!)Comment

Haha yeah hope mooty didn't mind the little deviation!
Dr Feller is a great surgeon by the looks of things but probably wouldn't like to do FUE with me as I need at least 2500 grafts. He prefers 1000 FUE and under, as any more risks grafts and the ability of the surgeon in terms of fatigue.
Besides I don't think I could actually afford Dr Feller or Dr Rahal for 2500 FUE.
My options are:
Compromise on FUT and risk/deal with the linear scar.
Compromise on my perceived ability of the doctor and get one will do FUE at an affordable price.
Very tough call.Comment

Thank you for your inputs buddy. I have consulted him online, he has seen my pictures, he recommended that I need 7500 FUE. he suggested that should be done in 3 days 2500 x 3.
I have not done much research on the various procedure available but any feedback will be appreciated
I am uploading my pictures
I guess I am norwood 5 or 6. Dr Jayasinghe said that I have enough donor hair to achieve that illusion of required density.Comment

Hi Mooty
Sounds like you have a good plan. In all honesty, I have never heard of the doctor you speak off but if you feel that you have done your research then I hope it goes well. It might be an idea to see if you could meet with any of his prior patients who have had a similar procedure to the one you would be having. Ideally, they would have similar hair characteristics (calibre, density, etc). This would give you the chance to have a good visual representation of the end result. The good news is that your sides appear quite high so there is potentially a large area with which to harvest from. I imagine a 3 day FUE procedure of 7500 grafts would be pretty pricey and time consuming but I guess it could be done, assuming the surgeon is skilled. Have you looked into a number of doctors and if so, what made you choose this one?Comment
