Hello all,
I am actually posting for my brother who just had a transplant recently with Dr Feller (1800 - 2000 Graphs using the strip method) and wanted to post about his experience since he felt the forum was a help to him (he is not computer savvy). First I will say that my brother had a good amount of hair up top (much more the me), but it was thinning and it did bother him. The transplant itself went well and took about 5 hours with a quick break for lunch. He went home that day and took pain killers as instructed, but he said the pain was not bad, his head was mostly numb. He only took pain killers for the first day and then went to Tylenol. The three night he slept upright in a recliner. The second day he cut off the bandage, took a shower by just pouring water from a cup over the front of his hair. He stayed home from work for 2 days after the transplant and then went back to work. He has a job where he can wear a hat, so he was able to carefully hide the transplant.
For the first 2 weeks he could not sleep through the night because of the staples, they did not hurt (he said), but he felt them and it was saw. After 2 weeks he finally got the staples removed, which was painful, but not terrible and it was much easier to sleep. I am posting some pics so you can see. Also his new hair did not fall out so far as we have read in other posts, it still may, but we do not know.
My brother was happy with Dr Feller and his staff, he thought they were professional and caring.
It is way to early to know the result, but I am posting some pics and will post some more after a few months, when we can see the results.
regards,
