    Hair Transplant

    Hi all,

I had a HT 10 days ago, temporal areas and front line. So far all the crusts have gone and all the hair appears to be there. Obvioulsy I'm not moaning but I was under the impression that some would fall out with the crusts. So far nothing. Or is it just to early? I'd rather it didn't fall out ... but that's probably to much to ask for.. lol

    Jo.

There is really no telling when the transplanted hair will fall out - but it will fall out. Mine started falling out the day after the staples were removed, which was 10 days after surgery.

As soon as I saw 10 days I knew it wouldn't be long. It would be nice if the hairs just stayed put but most will fall.

Well it's now nearly 4 weeks... the remaining few hairs are growing and there appears to be a thin downy coating where the other hairs where! The only negative so far is I now appear to have developed dandruff in my original hair, big flakes of skin shedding. I'm wondering if it's because of a reaction to all the stress, the anethestics and the antiseptics that the scalp endured.

Who knows? It would be a good idea to use Nizoral shampoo once per week anyways so now is a good time to start. That should clear up the dandruff. I don't know if the 1% "Nizoral A-D" version is available where you live, but I am sure the 2% prescription strength version probably is.

I managed to get some Nizoral today, let's see if it helps. Thanks.

Well it's another three weeks since my last post, dandruff has gone.... Hair is growing nicely. There are a few occational pimples, but again a good sign (that hair really want's to get out!) The growth appears to moving inwards to the transplanted area, strong growth on the outer 60% of the grafted area and slower growth in the center. Not so sure if that's normal but it is all growing. I occationaly get twinges from the scar line at the back, I can only assume this is nerves repairing themselves. It's not an issue but it can be quite wierd when you get this strange twitchy tingly sensation at the back of your head!

The twitchy tingly sensation goes away eventually.

I am glad you are doing well.
