Before & straight After shots - Rahal 4400

So.... I had 4400 grafts done last week with Rahal and it went very great, my story is written in another thread. These are the numbers:

    3s: 1152
    2s: 2426
    1s: 822

Here's me just before, after and a some days after that. It all happened 9 days ago and i'm back home in Detroit and I am waiting patiently for the hair to fall out, the original hair to grow back a little and for the hair at the back to be long enough to cover up the scar- then back to work! Thanks to Mike at Rahal for the photos and for looking after me, he's a great guy!

I'd love to know what you guys think!

Check out the forehead swell the day after!

Fingers crossed! Its 11 days since i had it done and i'm so excited, i've stuck rigidly to the post care advice given by Dr Rahal and Mike and I'm just waiting for scabs to form and drop off. I'll post some pics in a few weeks.

I flew in from Detroit to see Dr Rahal and I found his fees to be very reasonable.

                  Day 16

So, since I last posted i had my sutures out and the nurse said the scar had healed nicely so i entered into what can only be described as Scabfest. Prior to this i'd never touched my graft scabs, i had followed the Rahal post surgery advice to the letter and only gently poured shampoo solution over them to clean and that was it... so now it was time to properly stick my head under the shower for the first time and very gently massage the scabs off. This was amazing fun, not just in the shower but gently massaging them all day and seeing the flakes fall off. Now i'd been warned not to worry about seeing hairs come off with the scabs as after 2 weeks the grafts are pretty much anchored into my head so I didn't worry. My head is almost free of scabs and i expect to lose the grafts completely over the next few weeks. Here are my latest pictures.

Compare these to 2 weeks ago....

There's very little redness so i'm hoping as soon as my hair has grown to cover the scar at the back that i can venture outside hatless. To speed my hair growth up i'm taking MSM 3 times a day and Biotin twice a day, spraying 5% minoxidil on in the morning.

So, everything Rahal and Mike have said so far is going to plan, I have a dinner party to attend 2 weeks today and am hoping to look perfectly normal by then.... fingers crossed.

Amazing recovery of the recipient. I think you'll have speedy growth. You appear to have a nice donor area and high lateral humps. Do you plan on getting back in the chair down the line?

You little charmer FDR! I am being realistic and i reckon, all being well, if it grows nicely i'll want to go back to Rahal to fill in the sunroof but i'll wait a couple of years i think just to see if the lateral humps or the back of the crown lose any more hair and then i can make sure i save some donor area to chase it.

I'm lucky enough to work in a uniformed industry so have concealed my work with a hat but i've got to go for a big family dinner on Thursday and am practising hard with dermatch to cover the scar and may stick some toppik on top. I believe its perfectly safe...but does anyone else have a view?

A great choice in Rahal I think. Even if you strip out for good next time you can go back to Rahal and probably get another 2000-2500 by FUE. The high lateral humps are key in the restoration process. You don't want to be building those up with transplanted hair and yours look solid so I think this is going to work out great in the long run. Best of luck and keep us updated.

While we're talking about strips scars if you do someday strip out I guess you can always put some FUE grafts into the strip scar. I've seen some people do this and they can go remarkably short on the back and sides afterwards.
