Hello everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the Vera Clinic in Istanbul and my hairtransplant surgery with 3500 grafts (2200 front and 1300 crown).
From the arrival on at the airport in Istanbul, to every appointment on the schedule and rides back to the hotel, the taxi drivers have arrived on time like clockwork and been really friendly and helpful, making sure, that especially after the surgery, my head and therefore my transplanted grafts are safe.
During my stay in Istanbul I resided in the 5-star Marriott hotel in a really nice room, great food and extraordinary service.
All scheduled appointments were communicated early enough via Whatsapp, to have enough time to rest and prepare.
On the first day of arrival I got to meet the team of experts and assistants and my donor and problem areas got examined first hand to get a realistic picture of how many grafts actually could be transplanted to achieve the best result possible, while also taking my preferences into consideration.
The surgery was carried out on the second day after shaving my head and taking some photos of each side of my head.
The whole proceedure took around ~ 6 hours. Obviously the treated areas were numbed by anesthesia, but I was still awake during the entire process. I barely felt any pain at all, IŽd rather describe it as turning into a numb rock or the feeling of wearing a helmet, while the surgeons, like artists, work on a chunk of marble.
Inbetween the different phases of the surgery, I was able to take little breaks, have a little chat with the surgeons and staff and got served something tasty to eat. Everyone in the clinic made sure that I was feeling comfortable and be in good condition.
After the surgery I had the chance to rest a little while and talk to the doctors, getting some feedback about the surgery and further treatment.
Later on the same day I had an appointment with a few other patients for the OxyCure Treatment, which I repeated again the morning after. It helps greatly increase the recovery phase of your treated areas as well as the survival of transplanted grafts. You can read more on that topic on the Vera Clinic website.
I was allowed to rest a little more in the hotel until I had to leave for my flight back home. As usual, the taxi drivers were right on time and took care of my head, not hitting any edges, as well as my baggage. Overall I had a really comfortable experience in the clinic and the hotel. Not for a second I had the feeling I wouldnŽt be in good hands.
