    Growth after HT

I just had a HT almost a couple of weeks ago...I can feel the new transplanted hair starting to get longer..Now I know that this will eventually fall out and in a few month or so new hair will start to grow in...My question is because this new
HT follicles are currently growing should I consider my HT a success? IN other words, Because the new transplanted follicles are getting blood to them and the hair that was in them are growing, I should not have any complications with them in a few months once they shed and start growing again..

      Spex,
Is this a common thing for newly transplanted hair folicles to start growing hair before they shed? I have had 4 HT's in the past and they always grow a little bit before the hair falls out..As an Engineer I always like to disect they way things react to a situations and this situations has peeked my interest....I wounder if other HT cases always see this growth?

        B's fan,

With all of the refinements being made to the instruments used to create the recipient sites, far less trauma is being realised by the recipient area. This is usually evident by three things. They are: less swelling and bleeding to the area; increased graft survival/yield; and thirdly, more grafts remaining in the anagen (growth) phase post-op.

And this third area is what you are experiencing. More single hair grafts that take off and keep growing. And yes all "surviving" transplanted grafts will eventually cycle.

Most of the hair shafts within the transplanted grafts still do fall out with the crusts post-op.
