I've had 2 transplants. First was FUE in Seattle with Advanced Hair Restoration. Second was McGrath in Austin, Texas and he did FUT Strip.
I was less pleased with the FUE since it was only for my hairline, and minimal density. The hair receded from the front hairline in a few short years in my late twenties, and I had McGrath do a density fill on the front with the FUT Strip.
I'm generally happy with the front of my hairline as they did a great job filling it in but even when the FUT was completed I had a receding crown. I was told by McGrath I had enough donor to do one last FUE for the crown back in 2018.
I had the evaluation from ASMED to do 5000 grafts. My question is that since the top of my head is less visible, is it better to just focus/consolidate on the bald spot/crown, since its more noticeable?
I'm afraid I'm really pushing the limits trying to put hair on top & on the crown?
Is ASMED generally a good provider to address a bald Crown?
Appreciate everyones opinion, this has been a real confidence killer thats been hindering my life/relationships and put me in a semi-depression. I'm on finasteride 1mg daily but I don't feel like its doing anything other than keeping whats left. I also use minoxidil and laser cap (also not enthusiastic about either).
I have to dump Topic/hair fibers on my bald spot to feel any confidence in public, but its a giant mess and I know people probably can see the fake fibers/blotching. The one thing I have going for me is I have thick sides and McGrath did a great job with the FUT scar/healing..
I'm 38 years old.
