has anyone flown(air) since having a scalp reduction?

    hi,

i had to have a scalp reduction , the kind with no doner area. i received a 3rd degree chemical burn from getting hilights..the burned area was cut out it was infected,my dr did a flap to restore what hair i have left which is a lot . the burned area was about 7" across now i only have a small area of 3" and a 2" long area. my head still feels like its stretching. i'm getting a transplant on the rest.

the surgery was exactly a year ago, he says its ok to fly and swim..i'm going to new zeland and the flight from LAX is about 9 hours.

just wondering if any one has flown that long with the type of procedure i had done. like the pressure of the cabin if it will hurt.

    thank you!

    Hi Ann,
I’m sorry to hear about your terrible ordeal. Flying a year after your surgery should be no problem. Strecheback for these types of procedures is common, but if you went to a qualified surgeon, it should be minimized. Did you have to use scalp expanders to stretch your skin or did he just perform a scalp reduction?
    Who was your doctor?

I agree. One year post-op should not present a problem.
