Why can't we lift weights after a hair transplant?

I've read that it's recommended to not lift weights for two weeks. But I never read why that is. Does anyone know?

I had my hair transplant two days ago, and I don't want to loose the muscle that I've build up. I wanna do 5 minutes of day of lifting weights, like i usually do.

BTW, this is my first post here. Hi everyone, I'm James.

Hopefully Joe Tillman will come on and give you the answer. The only thing i can think of would be a blood pressure issue that would affect the grafts but that is just a guess.

Aha, but I'm wondering what about the blood pressure has such a negative effect on the hair grafts?
And yeah Joe Tillman's thoughts on this would be great, but I'm sure he's busy hehe.

I found this on the web:

The reason why we limit heavy exercise immediately after a Hair Transplant is to reduce the possibility of dislodging grafts by excessive sweating or elevated blood pressure.

          Excellent, thank you!!
I guess this means I should be able to do some light weight-lifting (using two dumbells) at home for a few minutes a day
My grafts won't be touched of course.

Hey guys, sorry. I didn't see this. But yeah, the blood pressure build up during weight training in the first several days after a procedure can have the grafts literally popping out. If you had strip surgery, it can also derail the donor strip healing process and encourage wide scars. Listen to your clinic, follow the post-op care instructions to the letter. Hope this helps.
