Sun damage risk to grafts in winter?

I am 5 weeks post-op and was told to be very careful in the sun for 4 months following the surgery.

I regularly use a hat, but the hat has ventilation holes in it. Could grafts get damaged from a one-hour walk in the winter sun wearing such a hat? The UV index in my area is usually around 5 out of 10. Sometimes the sun feels warm, even though it is winter.

How would I know if any damage has been done? Would the scalp need to be visibly red and swollen?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Basically the skin can be more prone to sunburn while it is healing, so if you have no signs of that then you're fine. I doubt if much in the way of sun is reaching your scalp through ventilation holes and even if it does, it won't be focused on one area for very long.
