Ugly Duckling Phase

Did anyone NOT go through an Ugly Duckling phase after HT?

Seems like this is just part of the deal, even if the surgery goes well technically. Face swelling, crusting, shock loss, donor site issues, sutures, staples, head shaved, etc.

You can't not make an omelette without breaking some eggs....
Non shaving of the recipient area can certainly help speed up the down time associated with HT surgery.
