Our strip scar repair patient shown in the top three photos had multiple strip scar procedures at another well-known clinic for a total of 1,000 grafts. He has great hair with the exception of the scarred area on the back and sides of his head. His three photos illustrate how longer good quality donor hair (top left photo) can cover severe scarring. The top middle photo shows how the scars begin to appear with a shorter haircut and his final photo on the top right, reveals the scars with his head shaved down.
Our second strip scar repair patient pictured on the second row, had around 3,000 grafts placed and got a reasonably good strip scar. Unfortunately according to our patient, his strip procedure graft survival rate was at about 10%. He opted for the shaved look and had a very good result from SMP at his frontal area. Since his strip scar is thin, it didn't take a lot of grafts to fill it in. He should begin to see results at around the 4th. to 6th. month.
