Question about my option after a failed FUT

    Hi all,

Hope you guys can give me so ideas on how to proceed after having what I consider a failed FUT operation. I had the operation back in summer 2012 for 1500 grafts but although I got some growth the final result is way below what I expected (just hairline growth mostly) and led to believe by the clinic. The clinic offered to give me 500 FUE graft for free to fill in the top of my head which I don't think it will make any difference to be honest. The clinic also told that they can fill in the linear scar that I got from the FUT operation with some of the FUE graft. Is that really possible? Is it possible to implant new grafts into the linear scar and make it less visible. I honestly do not believe anything the clinic tells me anymore. I finally accepted my baldness and really don't care much about the hair grafts I just want that scar to be less visible. Should I go with the FUE procedure? Also what are my chances of getting a full or partial refund?

    Where did you go?
    How long was procedure?
    Did you apply anything post-op?
What kind of growth % do you estimate you have out of the grafts

      yes it is possible

since you don't believe the clinic, if you do this find another

as for the refund, most cosmetic surgeons will work with patients to remedy the situation by offering free or discounted additional procedures

find a new clinic that is known for repairs

it is a fixable situation, so don't fret too much

it will just cost time and money

but in the end, peace of mind is priceless

      good luck

        Mahalo,

Pics would help greatly to evaluate your concerns. Do you know the approximate surface area that your grafts were placed? If they were placed at a lower density level then the 1500 grafts may not produce much "visual" coverage.

This means that the grafts were placed so far apart that any specific recipient zone did not have much boost in density.
