Dr. Cole - Today's Strip Scar Repair

Inspired by Northeastguy's strip scar repair, our patient today is scheduled for 800 grafts. this is an interesting case. Our patient's hair looks very good. he has a dense donor area and his strip scars are easily concealed with his longer hair style. Like many men, he wants to be able to wear a shorter haircut, so that's why he's having grafts placed in his strip scars today. A lot of scarring for only 1,200 grafts taken by his previous doctor.

Here is a photo of our patient immediately post-op. When ACell and PRP are administered, I consistently see great scar repair results.

It's good to see our International patients stay in town for a while. During the holiday season, many are anxious to return home. I always tell our patients post-op to think "head" and be particularly careful of the overhead compartment while making their way to their seat. We had a patient a while back tell me a woman dropped a heavy suitcase on his head while getting into his seat. Fortunately that happened pre-op.

Our patient planned a mini vacation in the US with his family and plans to return home to Enfield UK in the next couple of weeks to enjoy Christmas with relatives. By then, there should be no signs whatsoever of HT surgery. To ensure this, our patient opted for a non-shaven procedure Dr. Cole refers to as C2G.

        Hi jetfan11:

Hope you are doing well. His scar is about 1.2cm at the widest point.

Looks like there are two donor scars; one thinner and higher up and then the wide lower scar so it appears he had more than one strip surgery. The wide lower scar looks like it was taken from far too low, literally on the nape of the neck, which is why it stretched from being such a small procedure of 1200 grafts. This is indicative of sloppy technique overall.

Glad you were able to help him out.
