Is the donor region really that limited?

Yes I do think it's possible but I think it depends on many things first and foremost the doctor performing the procedure and the size of the punch. I don't think many on the forums get me. This is not being promotional on my part as all I receive is the satisfaction of helping others avoid some of my experience along with what I have seen in recent years. I also believe one's own healing characteristics play a part and nutrition is absolutely critical.

I am now shaving to the bone and I really like the look.

    Shaved to the bone :-)

Maybe some do this already but the few surgeries I have viewed do not show them doing this.

Clear, sharp photos are usually brutal and show every detail. I can barely see the scar.

Topcat...is that the look you always have....the one in those photos?

If so, no offense but it does not work. It looks like someone has taken a clipper to your head in the middle of the night.

It is not a good example of what I have proposed.

I have said it before......I am not proposing that massive chunks are taken out of the donor region, leaving just bare skin. I am proposing that surgeons take an extra 1000 or 2000 grafts in an even manner so that there is still an even spread of hair.

or basically to a stage where the hair would look thin if grown long but if grade 0 or grade 1 would look fine. Another bonus of this is that it is the back of your head that is being thinned out......who looks you in the back of the head anyhow?

In theory I think the donor hair would look acceptable in this case but if it is felt that it needs 'thickening up' a few thousand smp dots will do the trick.

I was watching the Under 20 World Cup match between Uraguay and France the other day and could not help but notice how many players had the kind of haircut in question.....

Wasn't just these, there were plenty more with the very short back and sides, medium length on top.

I heard that the hairstyle is called the "mullet". One of my favorite MLB players had one and he got teased so much that he cut it off.

Sausage it’s more of a military cut all the way around and it suits me perfectly. You need to be fit otherwise forget it. Here is a picture of me last year but I am in much better shape now.

And if you have white dotting from the fue procedure which I do not you can also forget about shaving your head as all those white dots look odd.

Shaved heads or semi shaved heads only work with fit bodies.

Or...perhaps you could get all the side and back hairs transplanted to the top and then get a tattoo like the singer Lloyd on the back and sides and look real gangsta.........tbh I think it would look sick......but it would attract way too much attention.....you will never get a job, and when you are 40+ it would not be age suitable.....

His tattoo is a bit crap, design a sweet ass one and you could look pretty kick ass.........only really for alternative, 'out there' type of guys though.

Adds a whole new meaning to "putting a gun to your (own) head". Great tattoo for an artist. May not leave the best impression during an interview for an accounting position. I think it will still look good even when he's 70.

yes, you would have to be pretty crazy to get this done.

I think it is important and could be the way for me to go if a surgeon was willing to help me achieve this result.

Surgeons obviously don't want to extract too many grafts as they don't want the donor area looking too thin. There are always different limitations for different people......

Are there surgeons or would surgeons consider going beyond their usual recommended limits by 1000, 2000, maybe 3000 grafts if the donor area was filled in with SMP tattooing?

It would solve the problem for me of not having enough donor hair and I believe that SMP would work well in this situation.

I understand the back and sides of the head would need to be kept short. A hair style like this could be the end result. Please note that I am only emphasising the hair style I wouldn't expect such a vibrant, full wonderful head of hair although it would be nice:

Have that hairstyle right now, but with a receeding hairline. Looks awful if you have a long face.
