    a question about donor scar

Okay, its been four weeks now and I'm pretty much over my initial paranoia I'm settled in and ready to wait and watch my hair grow. I'm curious about the donor scar though. It's looking pretty good, but when I feel it, it feels as though there are a few spots that are bumpy. Is that a normal healing process and will if so, will it go away?

I had the exact same thing with my donor area. It felt quite bumpy, especially in this one spot where the doctor had to take an additional section since we were a little short on grafts. I thought there was no way those bumps could possibly go away.

Not to worry, it should heal in due time. Of course, if you are really concerned about it, don't hesitate to visit the doctor.

hmmm, I don't know. It's not like it is bad enough to make me worry about it. It's just that there are some places that I can run my fingers across and not tell where it is, and some that I can definitely feel where the incision is. I assume it will somewhat heal more, but I'm curious if this is normal, and if so, how long does it take to become that fine white line you see in the pics?

I think that’s pretty normal. I had a hernia operation and my scar line felt bumpy for many months. Now it’s completely smooth.
