How long to get hair back after FUT transplant

I am saving up for a FUT hair transplant for the first week of September, however I'm wondering (a) how long it actually takes for hairs to be visible on the head after a HP, and (b) how many months after September could I expect to have a number 5 and up hair cut?

It took about 3 months after the procedure to see decent growth for me. I think by 5 months I was able to get a decent look with longer hair. By 1 year you'll see full results.

Just wondering what you mean by full results? Does it really take one year, I'm starting to feel depressed here.

Fut will yield the best results as the harvest will result in a 99% survival rate. They can disect each follicle under microscope and transplant them.

However, ask your surgeon about the 'trichophytic' procedure

          http://www.virginiasurgical.com/tric...donor-closure/

When I get my second (and last) procedure done for density, I am going to use this procedure to fix the first line that I have now. Its a small line, but apparently this procedure in theory can yield no line at all , even at a 2 buzz

This is how it was for me.

I got 1333 transpants. About 300 survived and continued to grow. The rest fell out from anywhere from 2days to 3 weeks.

Then, after 3 months, some started sprouting in. But they dont all come in at the same time. They sprout in stages. They come in anywhere from 3 to 6 months.

Then it takes anywhere from 3 to 5 months after that until all the hair is a decent length for you to finally see what happened. So yes, about a year.

Im at almost 5 months and I could not be more delighted and they still havent finished sprouting yet.For me, the hairline just got denser and denser. Thats the best way to describe what happens.

          Hope this helps

Some people see growth faster than others. Quite a lot of growth can occur after 4 months, and by 6 months a patient will normally have a significant improvement.

Hair grows at about 1.25cm per month (0.5 inches).

              A #5 grade is 1.5cm (5/8 of an inch).

So you should have transplanted hair which is long enough by month 5 at least.
