This is exactly why the American Hair Loss Association (AHLA), the International Alliance of Hair Restoration Surgeons (IAHRS) and The Bald Truth were created.

for that reason, my advice to any male considering HT is to choose a top surgeon and avoid FUT. at least with FUE or HST, if things go wrong you still have the option of buzzing your hair or cutting the sides and back really short without noticeable scars.

Wow, that's a very informative website and you can tell that the person that created it is very passionate about it, since he fell victim to the shoddy, old-style hair transplants. That website really highlights a lot of the concerns that I have with the hair loss industry. First, the government has either been unwilling or unable to regulate the hair transplant industry and has failed for well over 50 years protect people from a procedure that could disfigure them for life. Absolutely unbelievable. I mean, a substance like bimatoprost has to go through rigorous and intensive FDA trials, yet the government provides no regulation in the hair transplant industry. A total contradiction.

I also find it ironic that the doctor that butchered the creator of the website is actually the president of the ISHRS. That's why I have no faith in that organization and I find them and their conferences to be a total joke (which I talked about in another thread). That being said, I realize that there are also ethical doctors in the ISHRS (like Ken Washenik and Hasson & Wong). But there are many other doctors who are part of the ISHRS that I wouldn't even trust to take out my garbage, let alone perform surgery.
