In long-standing baldness, with the follicles gone, the scalp’s rich blood supply begins to diminish. Sun damage also damages the scalp’s connective tissue and alters the blood supply. Because of this, we prefer to transplant large, but not excessive numbers of grafts in the first session, in order to maximize growth. Once the first transplant is performed, the rich blood supply returns to the scalp and additional grafts may be supported.

Great job doc. Interesting that you mentioned the concern for yield when transplanting to a scalp that has been bald for a long time. I wonder if Acell is improving the yield in such scenarios? Similarly do you think it could have a role in improving FUE yield.
