    Dr Rahal Patient - 3249 Grafts - 7 Months

This patient (aged 29) approached Dr Rahal with the goal of restoring his hairline to a high density. He returned for a follow-up at 7 months and is extremely pleased with the result, which frames his face perfectly and enables styling options he thought he'd lost forever.

    FUT (strip)

    3249 grafts.

    Graft breakdown:

    Singles: 555
    Doubles: 1655
    Triples: 888
    Quads: 151

    Total number of hairs: 7133.

Wow. Simply amazing. Ridiculously good result. Dr. Rahal seems to really cater to the young guys and their desire to get their hairline back. I know that's a lot of grafts to put into what is not a fully bald frontal third but I actually agree with Dr. Rahal's philosophy. The frontal third and hairline are what have the most dramatic aesthetic impact. It's what people see when talking to you face to face. I don't see why someone should go overly conservative. If there's less donor to use for the crown so be it. I'd much rather have a nice dense face framing hairline and good midscalp with a thin crown than a receded average denisty high hairline where density is pretty decent in the crown. With the crown it's out of sight out of mind.

Even after stripping out, 8000-9000, it might be possible to chuck another 1000-1500 into the crown by FUE if it's required. The way I see it is, worst case scenario, he could still have another 3000 for the mid scalp and another 2500 for the crown by strip. Then another 1000-1500 by FUE into the crown if required.

I think with HT it's about balance. Don't just live for today but also don't neglect tomorrow.

The hairline does seem to take priority with most patients, including those who are undergoing their first procedure at a higher Norwood stage and already needing to make those decisions over balance.
