Dr. Lindsey 1700 graft repair case female hairline McLean VA

This very nice lady had 2 poor experiences elsewhere. She was left with an unnatural, sparse, and yet pluggy hairline and a large donor scar in the back. She’s maturing and wants to be able to have some hairstyle other than bangs. BUT the bangs will allow her to have this procedure and return to work on day 7 without being noticed.

I’ve posted my very conservative approach to female hairloss on numerous occasions and we work with only 1 or 2 females per year. This lady’s problem is a fight that I feel confident we can win. And coincidentally another 40ish year old lady came in and saw this lady and has also proceeded with a similar case.

Shown are her results after 2 cases elsewhere, her donor scar, which was excised with her strip. A closer view of her recipient area shows how we trim the “already paid for hairs” to about 1/3 of an inch long so that I can make slits as close as I can to the existing hairs without hitting roots that she’s paid for. Astute observers will note the sparseness of her previous work and several “3s” right at the hairline….criminal. After the slits are made, I do not usually shave off the saved native hairs to facilitate placement. But in her case she has bangs that will cover the entire front so I shaved them for quicker completion.

She got her sutures out uneventfully and I’m confident we’ll see her for followup at 6 and 12 months.
