Hey guys, i was just wondering how long does it take for minoxidil 5% liquid solution to make peach fuzz into regular, healthy hair?

I see you are desperate for an answer so I'll try. As far as know it I think it depends on different things. How long have you been on it for? I think in general it can be anywhere from 6 - 12 months but everybody reacts differently to it.

    Baldasaurus,

If you are compliant with the medication and respond well to it, probably between 12 to 18 months of compliance. It takes a painfully long time to treat hair loss and there is no way to speed up the process.

It is a very good idea to taper up to the full twice a day dose over time though. Start slow like once a day every other day and work up from there.

Good answers so far. defo start on it slow and steady - Also consider the foam version as personally i think is more effective and its a damm site easier to apply.

    Awesome, thanks for the answers!
I've only been on minoxidil for about a week but i have been on Nizoral 2% shampoo for about 2 weeks also. Would nizoral help to speed up the process at which the hair thickens by chance?

Hi im thinking of starting both fin and minoxidil as i dont think i can withold treatment much longer. My question regarding minox is that i have read it mainly works for the vertex but can it work for the mid and front areas on the hairline? Im an nw3 at the moment. Thanks

Hey bud, I recently started using minox for my front hairline on both sides because its thinning and after getting a buzz cut, i realised there is a lot of peach fuzz. I am between a NW2 and NW3 so we're pretty much in the same boat. My doctor gave me a prescription for minoxidil 5% and i am also on Nizoral 2% shampoo. Though it is too soon to see any changes, my doctor said it will help thicken my hair. So I'd say check with your doctor first before using minoxidil and finasteride to make sure that you are a good candidate to use the product. Best of luck.
