Default Seasonal Hair loss is REAL - who else has it?

I'm so sick of not having any type of answers to SEASONAL HAIR LOSS.

It exists. It's real. And it happens to many people.

Every FALL, for the past 3 years, my hair SHEDS a ridiculous amount up until almost March. I go borderline BALD. It's horrible. But by the summer time - the hair begins to grow back.

I've googled it and read plenty of others, especially women, experiencing similar seasonal hair loss periods.

It's not MPB, it's something wrong internally but I have no answers. I went to these stupid hair specialists and they claim they've never heard of 'seasonal hair loss'. Neither have dermatologists or my primary care physician.

I'm posting this in hopes that someone else can add to, relate to or even provide a cause or solution for losing almost 70% of my hair during a specific few months of the year, then growing some of it back.

My bathroom drain gets clogged in hair lately. My hands are covered in hair after running them through my head. Who else experiences this???

I think it's pretty reasonable. I also think guys going through MPB have big sheds, stabilizations, big sheds (cyclic).

My question I've had for a while is: For men who are experiencing MPB, do you have big seasonal losses, get back a fair amount of your hair (but still thinner than the prior year, then again have seasonal hair loss (cyclic.) Or, is there no real circannual rythem to your hairloss?

The reason I ask, is because if there is annual hair loss, hopefully it will taper off for the year, and I can start tapering fin ~6 months before the next rythem.

How long do seasonal sheds last? I have been shedding for more than 3 months now and it only looks to be getting worse.

They can last the duration of 3-4 months as hair is cycling.

Was literally just about to make a topic asking about this, and whether you shed more during the winter months or summer months. Thanks for the info Spex! I was just massaging my scalp in the bath and about 30+ hairs fell out

Not sure if that is unusual or not, that's where I was shedding from when I massaged my scalp.

I'm pretty sure that's normal because I shed a shit load at the back of my head when I shower but It's stick thick has ****. I don't it's possible to bald at the back of your head unless you have alopecia, right? lol

I, along with a few others I know, shed only during Fall/Winter months and I shed BADLY.

Spex has a good post but I believe there's more to it than just a natural shed.

For me, it started at about age 26 (I'm now 29) only during the Fall season. And it sheds so BADLY that by February, I practically have bald spots on the sides and back of my head and it's EXTREMELY thin overall. How is that supposed to be a natural shed?? And why doesn't it happen to more people?

Unfortunately, I don't have an answer.
