Another question about washing hair post FUE
Hi Guys,
You are all probably getting fed up with my questions. I quick question this time. Most clinics recommend washing or spraying your transplantecd area a lot after the procedure, at least during the first 10 days. I know it varies slightly from clinic to clinic. Can someone tell me what the rationalle is behind the constant wetting or washing. Am I right to believe it's to help get right of the scabs or the flakey bits? Or is there another reason behind it, like water helping the hair grow, like plant irrigation , I assumed it was the former rather than the latter. Any thoughts from experienced FUE people welcome.
Thank you.

The best thing you can do is simply leave it alone. Was it 1 x a day and try relax

thinkin,
The resons behind this are multiple. The first being that water (H2o) has healing properties in itself. And there was a day when many HT docs advocated using a saline/water based spray over the recipient area to facilitate the healing process. Another reason to keep the grafts moist also promotes healing.
This was before any of the post-op choices like copper peptide enriched products hit the market.
Other purposes for this are to help aleviate post-op itching, etc. And like you stated, it will help with the crusting/scabs.

Thanks Gillenator. I am now 10 days... trying not to look at it all the time. Is there are rough rule of the thumb measure on when you should start seeing some hair growth?

thinking,
We all stare in the mirror after a HT, welcome to the fraternity brother!
You should start to see the sprouts above the scalp line in about 3-4 months post-op, then at six months, WOW!
Hang on my friend, the best is yet to come!
