    Will Minox/Rogains shed healthy hairs?

I have a question for all those Minox/Rogaine users out there.

During the initial shed that comes with the product, does it only shed weak hairs that were due to fall out anyway or will are hairs, even the healthy ones, affected?

My Temples are thinning bad but the centre of my hairline is stronger atm. Would the application of minox here cause this area to shed also?

Spex, thanks for that reply. It was a very informative read and gave me much new information that I didn't have but didn't exactly answer what I needed to know.

I am expecting a shed with Rogaine. Your post explained how Shedding is not losing hair. Its dormancy. They go to sleep to return several months later. This is whats happening to me right now.

For shedding with a treatment such as Rogaine one should expect, according to your post, a corresponding loss of hair density in the first 3 months of minoxidil use. However, by the 6 month stage the subjects were shown to have regrown the lost hair and had increased hair density. This is heartening but is this for all areas rogaine is applied to, what about a hairline stable in the centre and weak at the sides? Will the the stable hair be unaffected as its not currently shedding or will Rogaine cause all hair it comes in contact with to shed and regrow, whether its currently weak/thin/mpb'ed or not?
