I was once told that it means that you have reached the maximum phase of growing. It just means that it's time for a new hair to start growing from the exact same area where the hair fell out

Just visited a dermatologist this morning. She did a pull test for TE (negative), and showed me two hairs with the small white bulb. She said the bulb indicates hairs that are in the telogen phase, so they'll rest and grow back. Take that for what you will. This was NOT buildup of white material around the base of the shaft, but the small, pin-head white dot.
