I quit minoxidil twice. Pretty much it wasent doing much for me, maybe helping keeping the hair i have. I don't think i saw much shed but i did notice my hair a little less thick when i stopped it. The reason i quit was because i felt it was aging my skin.

John, what did you notice about your skin aging? Its so hard to tell because we all age. I wonder whether minox has given me deeper forehead lines... but my father has them as well...

It's different from person to person. The best thing to do if you want to quit is to taper off of the medicine slowly over a long period of time. This way you can reduce or possibly prevent the dread shed of quitting. The sudden change is what triggers the dread shed. Making that change much more slowly can help a great deal.

Had to quit at once due to reaction you can look at my new thread. Don't know how it will affect my hair yet. It's only been about 2 weeks. Very bad reaction to the foam.

So Does anyone have experience with this
How bad is it really?
And do the risks outweigh the benefits?
-
for me personally i went a week without it and was shedding much more than usual.
Although in fairness I was starting to shed more during that period anyway. Either way Minoxidil only slowed the loss, it did not give any growth. Had to go on Fin to stop any further loss.

And your experiences with Fin???
And what at the Fin? I read online from, I believe, mens health that said Consumer Reports did a study of more than 8,000 MPB guys and the only significant scientifically reportable regrowth was from the group that used Fin, and that was only from 27% of the Fin users.
I'm nervous about the side effects of it though.
And now with the Minoxidil I'm worried about the shed if I get low on cash for a bit and can't afford it.
I'm starting to think Jason Statham and Bruce Willis are fairly decent looking guys who probably pull a ton of chicks (though I'm sure the money helps more than the look). So maybe I can just cut it super short and look pretty decent with just facial hair and an extremely short cut.
I'd do something between razor bald and a buzz cut. I just don't have the patience to take a razor to my head everyday. But I'd keep it buzzed everyday with trimmers.
Thoughts?

I sat next to Jason Statham at Nobu 2-3 weeks ago -- he's a great looking guy, hair or no hair. If you're in that boat, just go the shaved route, work out, dress well, and you'll be fine -- hell, better than fine in most circumstances.
I'd personally rather be a Norwood 6/7 than 4/5. In my opinion, being bald isn't the problem -- the problem is the process of balding.
The process of balding is one of continual deterioration. Every morning you wake up and you feel like your hair looks worse than it did the day before, and not as bad as it's going to look the next day. What's more depressing than that? But once you're bald, that's it -- what are you gonna do? Hate yourself and your looks for the rest of your life?
Trust me, the money and fame helps, but ol' Jason and Bruce would be doing just fine if they had neither.
