Using medications for treating MPB if you don't actually have MPB is a not a good idea. He needs to see a doctor to be sure it's MPB.

So Tracy,
What brands of shampoos do you recommend?

I like Aveeno. They make a great sulfate shampoo and conditioner as well as a 2-n-1. Use whatever brand you like, though it is best to use sulfate free shampoos and conditioners. If you have MPB or FPB, it is a good idea to use Nizoral A-D shampoo once or twice a week in place of your regular shampoo. Nizoral A-D is not sulfate free, but your exposure to the sulfates in it is insignificant if you only use it once or twice a week.

Thanks Tracy. I will look up this Aveeno you suggest.
I have both the 1% and 2% Nizrol but favouring the 1% right now as it conditions as well - and im going through a massive shed.
Keep the posts coming - you are a great help to many.

The only sulfate free shampoo i could find where im from is called juice organics:
http://www.drugstore.com/juice-organ...mpoo/qxp214250
i think it's alright since it's completly organic and it says it's free of:
parabens
pesticides
petroleum
propylene glycol
phthalates
sulfates
artificial colors
synthetic fragrances
I don't know if that's good or bad but im giving it a shot now.

either way I dont see why minoxidil or Fin is a bad reccomendation, fin barring you dont have side effects will at least slow the loss.
not a bad idea, dude. I'll post one ASAP. it probably would help specify the advice and recommendations if I gave an example. good looks

also, before I forget, what's everyone's opinion on Lipogaine? the reviews on Amazon were great, but I'm not an idiot-- I'm not going to put my trust in reviews that may have very well been planted for all I know, although, it's ingredients seem to have some fact behind them. I've found a few other sites giving it good praise, but out of all the sites, I trust the opinion of the users on this site the most. can it actually thicken hair?
