Anyone have experience with transplants in Mexico?
I live in San Diego and am considering a transplant. Clearly cost for everyone is an issue. My brother has been going to Tijuana (TJ) for over a decade to get his dental work done and he likes his dentist more than his US based one from before.
Considering finding a hair loss professional in TJ or even Mexico City. I can drive to TJ for a consultation and plan to. But I was hoping someone could share actual experience with any procedures from TJ.
Dr. Gardel is one that looks decent
Dr. Neopel is another one
Dr. Carlos Marin is another
Some of you are really good at research.. If you see anything good or bad about these doctors, I would appreciate your advice. Thanks so much!

Have you had any consultations in the San Diego area? What is you budget you are trying to work with? I would at least see two different doctors and get an idea on what you need and also if you are interested in FUE or FUT transplant. Do as much research as possible before going to TJ. Finally are you on any meds and what is your age?
Good luck

My suggestion would be to stay in the US for your selection. Good HT surgeons are worth traveling to and many have travel incentives or reimbursements.

Dr. DeYarman... I am making an appointment to come see you. My very good friend recommended you, he is your patient!
I admit cost is an issue so as a consumer if I can get similar results from a good HT doctor in Mexico, I would consider it.
Thanks.!

Gillenator. thanks so much for your reply.. I am a bit confused. The first part of your reply suggest staying in the US. But the 2nd part seems to suggest if you can find good HT doctor far away, they are worth traveling to...
Did I misunderstand? Thanks!

You are welcome my friend. No you did not misunderstand. There are many talented reputable docs right here in the US. I presume you are located in the US.
Even if you travel across the country "within" the US, you may find the doctor you like is still many miles from where you live. In other words, I have seen patients travel clear across this country because they feel the doctor they have chosen best fits their needs and goals not because they were convenient to travel to.
