Thumbs down Losing hair at a young age

Hi guys, like a lot of other people here, I have started to lose my hair at a pretty young age, I first noticed it 8 months ago, shortly after turning 19, feeling that my frontal hair didn't feel right and noticing how many hairs I was losing in the shower. At first, I told my self it was a mature hairline and that was it but after a while I think I came to terms with the fact I may have full blown MBP. I was always aware of the fact I could lose my hair due to all the men in my fathers side of the family having a distinctive high widows peak which stayed that way for a long time, kind of like Jack Nicholson's hair but I never really actually though it would happen, as all the men on my mothers family have extremely thick hair and my hair seems to resemble theirs more, so the fact I have started to lose my hair isn't that much of a shock as the fact that I am losing my hair this ****ing young. Seriously, how the *** is this **** allowed to happen to only some of us? This has really helped me to understand that life just isn't fair...

After seeing all the cases on here and reading some stuff, I think the food we eat or some of the other chemicals we are exposed to in the modern age is causing this to happen faster in some men but thats a disucssion for another day. So guys, I want to know if I am right in my assement that I have MPB, so I have attached some pictures and I would also like to know if it is possible that I am developing a Jack Nicholsonesque hairline and if that is a type of mature hairline or just delayed MBP. I've also been thiking about propecia but I'm not sure its right for me due to my age.

How far has your hairline moved back overall? Like the temples look a bit receded but that just looks like a mature hairline. What about the front of your hairline, has that receded at all or has it been naturally high?

Pictures of your hair line alone are not enough to determine if you have MPB or not because the hair line itself is not a good indicator of MPB. The best indicators of MPB are your vertex and mid-anterior areas. Therefore you need to provide good quality photos of your vertex and mid-anterior areas.

agreed with tracy. Monitor it for a few months and see if you're shedding alot and/or thinning in alot of areas. I can't fully tell from these pictures.

My hair line has always been pretty high but its definately receded around the temples but more so on right hand side strangely enough and the front has receded a bit in the middle, there is a gap there that was never there before.

I never really thought that I was losing hair at the back of my head but after taking these pics, I'm not so sure now because I always have had that little space at the back of my head but I'm not sure if it looks bigger or not

The thing is, I already am shedding a lot (Finding hairs on the pillow and a lot in the shower) and thinning in the temples, especially the right hand side, and this has been going on for around 9 months or so now, but I will definately continue to monitor it, maybe it is a mature hairline but I can't be sure with all this hair falling out so regularly

It is complete natural and normal for most males to loose their temple hair and develop an adult mature male hair line, this is especially true of caucasion males. So temple hair loss doesn't mean anything if you are a caucasion male. The shedding you are talking about is something you need to pay attention to though. You should already know that you need to eat healthy, get enough exercise and drink plenty of water. You should also consider replacing your regular shampoo and conditioner with sulfate free shampoo and conditioner if you haven't already done so.

Beyond those things, you need to book an appointment with a doctor who specializes in treating hair loss.

You are losing your hair...I also have the same problem has you do. I'm a NW 1.5 and my right side of my temple is more receded and thinning then the left side. The left side is nice and thick, which pisses me off lol. anyways, I would start taking propecia, nizoral, and spiro 5%. I wouldn't recommend taking rogaine because I regret it with a passion. If I could stop using it, I will but I can't.

Males should not use Spiro in any form. This person needs to book an appointment with a doctor who specializes in treating hair loss.

Hmmm, the thing is I'm concerned that losing my hair in the temples is only just the start and it will progress further, I think that seeing a specialist is definately a good idea, I will look into that, aswell as changing my shampoo to a sulfate free one.

I know man, its so damn annoying and it makes no sense, I can see my scalp more on my right hand side too, really making me paranoid. I'm already on Nizoral and not sure if I want to jump on the propecia boat just yet, will probably get that consulatation first before I see if its for me and why can't you stop using rogaine, have you become dependant on it? I think I will stay away from Rogaine.

Looks like you maybe just developing a slight mature hairline. Honestly you would be classified as not balding. I've seen 15 year olds with worse hairlines than that.

It's just that since you have a naturally high forehead any further recession must hurt - but that is life. Nobody keeps their hairline from their teens.
Ture but you never know, I guess I will keep an eye on it for now before going on anything serious like propecia.

Thanks for the advice and replies guys

Yes, try to see a hair specialist before getting on propecia. When I first took it sure I didn't have morning wood anymore and wasn't has horny like before but when I was going to have sex with the ex, I made it go up manually lol. I had that issues for about a month or two but it went away. I'm actually a lot hornier and I'm not joking around, I believe my penis grew about an inch, which my ex though I have been taking some type of penis growth pill. Anyways, yes I became dependant using rogaine. I stopped using it a couple a months ago and I was shedding ALOT. So, I had to go back on it, I'm pretty sure my hair would of been better with out it.
