Ah ok Baldwin cheers for that - Im just concerned with an increase of estrogen.

I am on a minox and AA and a few other ingredients solution at the mo.

Topically applied azelaic acid has been proven to be the most effective inhibitor of DHT synthesis in the scalp.

Now is SCALP the important word? It mentions DHT synthesis tho.

Zinc is supposed to be an aromatase inhibitor, which will reduce conversion of testosterone to estradiol. Zinc orotate is supposed to be most readily absorbed by the body. Naturally you may need to go beyond the body's "standard" need of 11mg/day.

Ok Thanks Curly - I was having a root around and found a few articles mentioning zinc alright. I will slightly go beyond the daily target and supplement my diet with a few zinc tablets to be sure. EOD Im thinking.

nothing that you currently use should give you the slightest worry about too high estradiol levels unless you already had a problem from the get go

I got some faith in Zinc as an aromatase inhibitor but it's probably not advisable to consume too much for a longer period of time. I would not go above 50-75mg supplemented per day. you might also experience nausea at high doses. make sure you get all the copper you need too

Also keep in mind that only x % of the Zinc is elemental Zinc. The rest is a citrate or orotate or whatever molecule, so calculate your dose of elemental zinc accordingly as most of the supplement is the non-active part. So
60mg Zinc Orotate = about 10mg Elemental Zinc according to one source, for instance.

Also, on a recent episode of the bald truth, Spencer interviewed a guy who took finasteride with sides and quit. Then he began taking zinc supplements and took 1/4 of a pill every other day and the sides resolved in a month. So based on this account, Zinc may not necessarily eliminate the sides but may allow the body to adjust in time.
