Strip Shave FUE - Dr. True (True & Dorin) 1301 Hairline FUs

Ideally for FUE treatments, we would like to have access to the whole donor area. If a patient is able and willing to completely shave the donor area in its entirety, this allows us to extract an optimal number of grafts. This particular patient is an executive from Europe that wanted to do FUE but with discretion so that he could transition seemlessly back into his normal appearance soon after the FUE process. In this situation, we will shave typically one wider band or several narrow bands that can be concealed by longer hair. We then extract without overharvesting throughout the shaved bands. This treatment produced 1301 grafts which were allocated to the frontal region. The patient's goals were met post-operatively and with the additional density, naturalness, and permanency achieved for his new hairline.

Very nice job Dr. True. On a patient with such donor characteristics how much do you feel comfortable extracting lifetime? Although I don't know the size of the extraction tool used I've noticed that while transection rate goes up with slightly smaller punches, some skilled doctors are finding that the slightly smaller punches are allowing more donor in total over multiple procedures to be extracted. Dr. Bauman himself has said he is confident of 8000 from most universal donor zones.

Again, great job and impressive yield. Nice stealth shave in the donor too.

Looking forward to seeing some more FUE results.
