Default When you first took propecia, did your hair shed?

I got a prescription for propecia, and im thinking about start using it soon. My only biggest fear is that if i start, my hair will shed. As of right now, i have a full head of hair and i don't have any bold spots yet, but if i start using propecia, what are the chances that hair will shed for sure to a point where i would look bold?

when you took it, how much hair did you loose? i understand that it will grow back but im a college student and im really insecure so before starting i would like to know what im getting into.

    Thanks

I had only a mild shed that seemed to stop within 6-8 months. Compared to some guys I was lucky, as Ive heard tales of intense shedding that lasts for longer.
I would give it at least a year before you judge whether the medication is working well for you. It's been very good for me so far.

Shedding is part of the process of treating hereditary hair loss. The hair that sheds out usually grows back. When it does grow back it will be thicker than it was before.

If you cannot accept temporary shedding, you should not attempt to treat your hereditary hair loss and simply allow nature to take it's course.

I'm not so sure. It seems like the hair I've shed since starting fin 8 to 9 months ago has grown back thinner and weaker. I can see strands growing but just looks like minaturized hair. Where as these were thick before. I've lost all density in the front and top. Back and sides are also thinner which I find very confusing as I thought these areas were not effected at all by MPB before.

Its a gamble you take when starting Fin There seem to be a few old threads other forums about people ending up worse after starting fin and never returning to baseline. Its just upsetting that this isn't cited as a possible side effect that Fin can effectively accelerate your MPB.

Is your hair in the same static state still? I seem to remember you saying the shedding stopped but you didn't see the shed hairs regrow
Also are you still using finasteride?

Still using. Lost loads to begin with, very noticeable, then stopped shedding completely until last week. Nothing's come back...

I didn't notice any increased shedding at all. I was prepared for it, I was anxious, but it never happened.
