use of rogaine post op
I was wondering how long after surgery I should wait before going back to using Rogaine. I use the foam and I've read that in some people it can actually help the hair grow faster. I'm also on propecia. I also just got one of those laser combs recently but I'm hearing mixed reviews. Any thoughts?

IAHRS Recommended Hair Transplant Surgeon
The Hair restoration physicians that recommend post operative use of Rogaine usually suggest starting 4-6 day after the procedure. I personally recommend starting with the 2% at night only for 1 week and then 5% at night after that.
There is no need to stop the Propecia. The laser comb is still controversial. I tell patients who have a Laser Comb to start using the second day after the procedure and can continue 3-4 times per week. I also instruct them to use it over the donor area as the increased blood circulation may help to speed up the healing process. Unfortunately, there is no real good data proving these modalities to be helpful or harmful.
