Custom Compounding Minoxidil
Hi folks,
was wondering if someone could help me out with my particular problem. Background details: 46, been balding since 20, I respond to minoxidil but has to be compounded in a very particular way, pharmacy I used to use doesn't make it anymore.
I'm trying to find a pharmacy and/or dr. who would be willing to experiement with me in compounding a minoxidil solution that we can tweak and fine tune so that we get it to work properly for me. I know my experience is not at all typical, but the way it's compounded seems to have an enormous impact for how it absorbs into my skin. I respond to a solution of propylene glycol, isopropyl alcohol water and I think heat in dissolving it for it to absorb properly for me. It's difficult to find pharmacists and/or doctors who are willing to work with someone who needs some customized treatment.
I can provide more details upon request. The exasperating thing about this whole situation is that I can have a hair regrowth "solution" (no pun intended) IF I can just get access to a supply custom made for me.
I live in the Washington DC area. Any recommendations, advice, references to doctors or pharmacists are welcome!
Thanks in advance!

Now that Dr. Lee no longer sells minoxidil, is there another source for high-strength?
(I used Dr. Lee's formulations for many years and hate to go back to 5%)
