Can MPB start as general thinning without receding?

I am on fin yes and the most it's done is stabilise/slow down the loss impo.

Now, and i don't mean to be brutal but, you say you expected regrowth of lots of hairs, are you sure that's what ou presumed? you've made over 500 posts yet you put forward a sentence like that!

I don't think there's been many (if any) instances where fin has regrown lots of hair, juat reports of the slowing down of hairloss, so you would hav been the first.

And cosmetically, you have the concealers.
