With appropriate ethical long term planning on the right patient you can get a HT without being on meds however the patient needs to have very realistic expectations and a good understanding of the limitations HT presents. The patient needs to understand that hair loss is progressive and that further surgery will be more than likely required over time.
Donor management is vital and a good surgeon will guide their patient short and long term.
