Also a pleased customer of Dr. Charles
Dr. Charles and his staff were wonderful. There is no other way to put it. They made me, a 21 year old with hair loss, feel comfortable the entire way - from the consultation to the post-opp procedures. I was treated with respect and kindness. Not only was the procedure uncomplicated, but with a catered lunch and over 75 movies to pick from to watch, the time flew by. I won't lie, it did hurt a bit. The anesthesia needles hurt the worst, and at the end of the surgery, my head felt very compressed. This all happened yesterday though and today I feel fine. The scar on the back is uncomfortable, but very little pain, and the implant locations are painless. I would strongly recommend Glenn Charles to anyone in the area. He also does this thing with your plasma that generally costs $1500 but with the surgery it is free. It helps grow quicker, heal quicker, and strengthen surrounding hairs that may be weak. -

I am pretty sure you are talking about PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)? We are now using this new treatment for both stand alone scalp treatments and with the hair transplants. It obtained from the patients own blood. We are using PRP to reduce inflammation, lower the risk of infection, promote quicker healing, and hopefully obtain greater graft survival. There are most likely many other benefits that we will be describing in the near future.Comment

Hi Doctor Charles:
I'm very interested in your comment about graft survival. As I understand it, graft survival is high in strip procedures --- as high as 95% or more --- even without PRP. Just curious - if graft survival is so high already, how could PRP help even further?
Also, what is your general opinion about graft survival and yield? In your opinion, for a strip procedure, let's say in one region of my scalp you transplant 20 grafts per square cm, and in another region you transplant 50 grafts per square cm. Without PRP, would you suspect that the yield in eahc of these 2 regions would be equal, say 95% or higher?
Thanks!
