Default Having transplant in 2 months time

I have finally decided having the transplant and booked an appointment with a doctor . I have been told i will need 4500 grafts provided my donor area can supply this amount .

My question is regarding this amount and the hairline decided by the doctor .
On most HTs i see the hairline is more like the black line on my drawing but from a young age i always had the sort of hairline shown with the redline .My drawing may not be perfectly accurate of course .

Would the difference of grafts between the 2 lines not allow the doctor to use less in total or even use the extra grafts for densing other areas ??
How do they figure out the hairline ?

Attached are the pics of above mentione hairlines and a picture showing my hairline from age 18-19 . I hope what i am trying to say is making sense .

It does not appear that your hairline was ever near the black line that is drawn in. I would highly recommend the red line because of your donor supply and will also attain a more subtle natural look.

Your hailoss appears to be more advanced so donor management is more of an issue for you than the lower hairline.

I think you got me totally wrong there .

What i said in my initial post is most hairlines i have seen in HTs are like the BLACK line ,My natural was like the RED line higher up and requiring less hair .

This is something i have not yet discussed with the HT doctor . Do you guys check with the doctor before the hairline is decided ? shall i show him my teenage hairline picture to give him the idea ??

It's certainly worth passing this info on to your doctor. They won't plant the hairline lower than you want it.

    Buddy,

I am going to get my HT on wednesday. Hope everything goes well.

I am bloggin about it so maybe some of your questions could be answered through it. Go to my profile

4500 is a lot of grafts I am only get 1000 but through FUE.

Maybe you should ask for another doctors opinion. Just a thought. I hope they are not trying to do that in 1 day as well.

I will certainly keep an eye on your blog and all the best of luck .

My HT id fully FUE as well .
When i sent my doctor the pictures of my current state only ,he said we will start with 3500 grefts and provided the donor area is available he wants to go for 4500 grefts . But seeing his other HTs before me ,i can see he seems to be using the lower hairline drawn in black on my picture . Now i am thinking he based the 4500 grefts he wants to transplant based on this lower hairline and may be if the more natural higher hairline can be restored he will need less than 4500 he is aiming for ?

I am going to discuss this when i can get hold of him but i was wondering what other people with experience and HT doctors on this website think of this ?
