Default what are your DHT levels?

For those that have had their blood work done, what were your levels exactly?

According to my doc the normal range should be between 860-3406...

    Mine is 4128

Did you have bloodwork done to determine this? Also, was this your regular doc or a hair loss specialist? Cheers.

Yup and it was my regular doctor. These tests were done in October/November, at the time I had only been taking saw palmetto for a month or two then so by now, along with emu oil on my scalp nightly (also supposed to block DHT) i think mine may be lower. Gonna check mid April when Im done exams tho...

Isn't it true tho that DHT affects some people and not others? By that i mean two different people can have above average DHT levels and one will notice hair loss while the other may not be affected by it?

    Yes.

DHT levels alone are meaningless as a predicator of whether you will have hairloss.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a tenuous link based on age and DHT level can be found.

For example, its known that DHT causes body hair and facial hair growth. I started becoming a hairy guy in my early-mid teens and sported a goatee/beard at 16-17. However my father (according to my mother) had little overall body hair until he was in his early 30s and it is only in the last dozen years my Dad has started thinning (he is 67). So is it possible that because of becoming a hairy guy at a younger age that has a direct correlation to when/how much I'm going to lose? It took roughly 10 years from the onset of overall body/facial hair growth before the hair started thinning and about 14-15 years before it became noticable if you knew what you were looking for.

I will be checking mine soon and will post it here. I'm fairly certain my level is high because of my abundance of body and facial hair. What's odd is my regular T levels are very low so if I ever take a DHT blocker it might completely mess up my system or it might balance me out.

thought i would bump this thread briefly, I wanted to ask an IAHRS doctor what they believe to be the normal range for DHT levels...which forum should I ask that in?

I see some of them posting in random thread however is there a section where I can ask those doctors questions...?
