    Finasteride and Neurological Damage

Has anybody heard about this? I'm nearing completion of my undergrad degree, and since taking Propecia my mind has gone to shit. A quick google brought up this thread from Hair Loss Help:

After reading, I'm curious, what do current Propecia users think of this?

Without reading that post, just going off of what I've read elsewhere...

The inhibition of 5AR doesn't just affect DHT but a few other hormones, including progesterone and subsequently allopregnelone which are very important to normal function of the mind in both females and males. In fact, its a drop in allopregnelone that is to blame for a woman having PMS and other issues related to her menstrual cycle.

So basically yeah. If you're body is susceptible to drops in production of those hormones, its entirely possible you will feel moody and have trouble concentrating. In fact, depression may even be a direct result as well.

Its just too bad there is no way to know whether you will be susceptible to any of the side effects.
