Starting my HT journey
Hello everyone,
I have been planning on getting a HT done for a while now and I am months away from going through with it. I have been reading through the forums to prepare myself but there's so much information that I wanted to ask for the community for help before I take this big step.
First, I'm trying to pick the right surgeon. What criteria should I use to pick a surgeon? What questions should I ask the surgeon? Are there any recommendations? I have had email discussions with Alan Bauman and James Harris so far and I am leaning towards James Harris simply because it is a shorter travel (I have no HT surgeons in my state).
Second, how much restoration should I ask for? I've attached one pic from 5 months ago when I started using a laser cap and 3 recent pics of my hair. Two weeks ago I started weening myself off of minoxidil because I am coming up on the two year mark where it starts to have diminishing returns. I am now only applying minoxidil once a day instead of twice. I want to increase the density of my crown so that my scalp can't be seen and repair my hairline, while possibly removing some of my widows peak. How realistic is this?
These are the first obstacles that come to mind. I have more but I am trying to focus on these before I figure out the rest.
Any help you guys can provide will be much appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not an expert, but you're a diffuse thinner and i believe you would suffer a lot of shock loss from a hair transplant. You might end up worse off after surgery. Something you should confirm with your surgeon. Spencer talked about the problem of hair transplants with diffuse thinners in his last show.
Be very carefull buddy !!

You might wanna try this first

It's easier , cheaper , less stressful if you can handle it .
If the HT doesn lead to the results you expected you 'll regrett it for the rest of your life .

To Folly: Yeah, I was afraid that my type of balding would be a problem. I'm going to ask a few surgeons if they think I have diffused thinning and whether they think I'll suffer from shock loss. Regardless of the whether I suffer from shock loss I would rather try then always wonder. I may end up getting a very small procedure done and seeing how well it works then taking it from there.
To Dave52: I've tried shaving my head and it doesn't look good on me. It was literally so bad that my co-workers kept telling me to wear a hat... lol
Does anyone have any experience with Alan Bauman or James Harris or have any HT surgeons they recommend?
Has anyone tried getting a small HT done to see if it works on them?
