Bro you're WAY too young for something like that. It's too early to know how your hair loss is going to progress. If you had a transplant into your hairline, and ended up with extensive baldness on top it would become impossible to fix in a few years as your progression continued.

Now with that being said, you might just be maturing as a previous poster pointed out and this isn't actually male pattern baldness in it's early stages. Only time will tell.

You might still want to wait another 2-3 years but the first step you should try if this gets worse is Propecia. See how you respond to that for a year or two before even considering a surgical procedure.

Damn! I just discovered that small hairs around the hairline is a certain sign of male balding pattern. I have these types of hair, I live in Norway and I don't know who I should contact. I don't think there's any specialists in hairloss here. I'm freaking out now, emotionally. What to do?

You may be a lot luckier than me, a cure could be coming out within 5 years. It may seem like too long for you to cope with but you may at least be blessed with not having to go through all of your 20's suffering from this disease.

I recommend saving as much money as possible so that when a cure does come out you can afford it.

And I'm really greatful for belong to this generation because a cure or at least an effective tratment is very near. But it's still kills me emotional. However I guess that's also the case for the majority of hair loss sufferers.

Its killed me emotionally. But as I say you may be lucky enough that you will only have to go through this for 5 or less years....we hope. A company called Replicel could have some good news for us baldies next month.

There is not much you can do to save your hair but take Finasteride, but I'll let you make your own decision on that. It is supposed to help 95% of men. I have literally just started taking it.

started balding at 16. I am now 27. So I feel like a veteran baldy, although i'm still young. Its been very hard. I got to the stage 2 years ago where I had to shave my hair off as my hair was getting too bad to have long and I could not look at myself in the mirror for the past 2 years. In the past 2 months I have been able to look in the mirror and I am starting to accept my baldness and starting to think I look ok with a shaved/bald head. Although I am more happier within myself I am still in a mess. I know how much better I would look with hair and how much my life would change if I had my hair back. The one thing thats annoying me is that I am at a stage in my life when its time to settle down with a girl but I don't have the confidence to ask anyone out, but I am trying to build up the courage to do so. If I could get a girlfriend then that would make things so much easier and baldness easier to accept. I know 4 people from school who have also balded but they are doing fine, in-fact they are all in relationships, one is married. 2 of those 4 have HOT girlfriends.

We can only hope.

Its not just confidence with girls.
Its losing any looks you had.
Abuse from other people.
Embarrassment.
Having a sensitive scalp to cold weather and to hot weather.
Having your photo taken.

All these things are are pain in the ass.

It would be amazing if we could all restore our hair in the next few years.
