Donor Scar surgery
How long after FUT is it recommended to have your scar filled in?
How long should it be left before getting it fixed up?
-
At least long enough to find out if you actually need to.
-
Surely you will need to if you keep your hair shorter than grade 3.
How long does it take to heal? Could you get your strip scar transplanted after 2 months?
Also how many days after surgery do you get the staples removed?

I don't know what grade 3 is. I do not understand why anyone who wants to wear there hair really short would bother with getting a hair transplant.
You seem to think the scar will be visible in all cases. This is not true. My doctor used a closure method that hides the scar so well that those who know exactly where it is have difficulty finding it.

It took a few weeks for my donor incision to heal. It took several months before my scalp felt normal. I am just guessing but I would bet it is a good idea to wait at least six months before attempting to transplant anything into the scar - if you even have a visible scar.

About ten days.

3 /8 of an inch
Shorter looks neater , or more presentable .
Sometimes longer looks like a glorified comb over .imo
Sausage, all these questions you are asking , you are probably better off asking the doctors you are consulting with .

Ok,
How is your hair coming along after surgery?

Thanks for your help.
Surely the scar would be visible if you have your hair short like a guy. Every photo I have seen of FUT with short hair clearly shows the scar.
I don't think I will wear my hair short if I had strip surgery. I asked this question as my biggest fear is the HT not working as then I would have to shave my hair short and this will obviously reveal the scar.
I just want to have the peace of mind to know that if a HT did not work then I could get the scar covered up fairly quickly and successfully.
Also you say people should not get a HT if they are going to cut their hair short.....
What about keeping the hair on top relatively long so that the transplanted hair on top looks thick etc. but cutting the back and sides short, is there anything you disagree with that and if so why?

It's not a matter of agreeing or disagreeing. It's that I don't understand why one would bother. I don't get it.

IAHRS Recommended Hair Transplant Surgeon
I usually recommend patients wait 8 to 10 months before undergoing FUE
filling in of a donor site scar.
