DHT is a good thing only during embrionic development, where it serves its purpose. In adults however, DHT is responsible for baldness, prostate enlargement, prostate cancer etc.

A "real" doctor in this case is an endocrinologist specializing in the sex hormones. Any other "real" doctor is not worth talking to on the subject with any meaningful depth.
