It is important to note what the doctor they interviewed said about the similarity of the active ingredient in Monistat 7 (Miconazole) to the active ingredient of Nizoral (Ketoconazole). He described the action to be very similar. However, there have been no studies on the effects of Miconazole for hair growth. There has been one small study on the effects of Ketocanazole for hair growth. That one small study did show evidence that Ketocanazole may be helpful for hair growth. Since Miconazole is similar to Ketoconazole, it may have a similar effect on hair growth.
