3,035 grafts to crown- Dr Cooley
This patient consulted with us about his hair loss in the crown. He was happy with his frontal hair and did not want anything done to the hairline. We started finasteride and performed an FUT of 3,035 grafts (1-880, 2-1516, 3-649; 5,829 hairs). ACell was used in the grafting. Results are one year later. His hair is a little longer in the after photo and he had been on the finasteride, both of which likely contributed to a fuller look, but overall, it was judged to be an excellent result.

Fantastic result Dr. Cooley! Seems like a lot of growth for 3000 grafts. Wonder how much if any is attributable to the finasteride and how much of it was the ACell...
Any photos of just pure Acell plucking patients? Seems like we haven't heard much about that in a while.. Perhaps you could release the presentation you did at this year's Alaska conference?

I will be making followup presentation in the very near future. Most of my "ACell plucking" patients are from out of town and getting followup has been difficult. I have a couple more patients coming back in January. Once I have these photos, I will present the patient series I have to date. This will give people a more accurate understanding of this technique because the results can be quite variable.
Thanks for your patience.

Hey doc, thanks for your response. When you say the results can be quite variable, are you referring to the poor results when transplanting into a completely bald recipient site? I'm wondering how consistent your results have been when you're transplanting into existing hair. Still around 75% growth? If that's the case, I say fantastic!
